The ARGUS 1553 Bus Visualizer™ stands apart from the pack due to its compact
size, outstanding user interface and ability to learn,
recognize and recall different vehicles, buses, and configurations. While
common monitors require an in-depth knowledge of the bus topology and the MUX
ICD, the easy-to-use ARGUS allows your team to get their task done quickly and
effectively.
Neptune has chosen Black Diamond Advanced Technologies' SwitchBack™ as
the ruggedized platform to deliver the ARGUS experience. The SwitchBack™
offers great versatility in a mobile rugged platform and
allows ARGUS to be custom modified both in software and hardware to meet
your evolving requirements.
BUILT WITH TODAY'S AGILE SOLDIER IN MIND
The touch screen and user interface allow most functionality to be accessed
with gloved fingers without the use of a stylus. The easy to navigate user
interface requires no prior 1553 experience or training to operate. The device
simply sets itself up once its connected to the bus and starts displaying
selected information. This technology coupled with Black Diamonds
SwitchBack™ platform provides a superior ruggedized solution designed
for use on the flight line, maintenance facilities, or engineering
laboratories.
LEARN and RECOGNIZE
Upon sensing a bus connection, ARGUS will
automatically learn the bus topology and detect all present LRUs.
It will then discern the vehicle type, configuration and bus
ID, based upon previously learned systems. Once ARGUS has determined
the system type,
all of the learned topology and user-specified configuration data is
automatically retrieved and loaded as the active configuration.
CUSTOMIZE
Individual LRU's can be named for use in both on-screen display and file
logging, but customization goes beyond the remote-terminal level.
User-specified
names can be assigned to individual messages and even bit-fields within
messages. ARGUS can recognize, interpret and display these Data Elements in several different ways. Using the advanced Data
Alchemist™ user interface, users can assign labels for specific
values. For instance, a Data Element representing Ammunition Type could display
"API - Armor Piercing Shell" rather than hexadecimal 0x27.
Numeric values are displayed in one of several user-selectable graphical
formats.
Your bus specification and user-specified information is stored in
a bus configuration file that can be shared among ARGUS units and other
Neptune software. This saves you from having to individually program
the same information multiple times. Neptune can enter the spec
for you based on your 1553 ICD.
RECORD
While connected, ARGUS will record the most recent bus traffic allowing
you to review sequences of events. The data can be replayed on the
unit, or exported and sent for analysis by other personnel. The
summarized reports can be forwarded to logistics to give them
advance notice of potential problems with a vehicle.
MANUALS
Your Interface Control Documents, maintenance manuals, and other
documentation can be stored on the unit. ARGUS can display the
appropriate pages when reviewing subsystems or their messages.
